Looking for bedroom wallpaper? Not sure where to start? We are here to help with ideas, tips and inspiration
The best thing about choosing a wallpaper for your bedroom is the choices are endless. You are not restricted by wallpaper types as any type can be used in a bedroom. Plus usually only the habitants of that room will see it so you can tailor the style to suit your taste entirely. Go mad its all for you!
So to help you on your quest for the best bedroom wallpaper the 1st step is to look at your style…
Does your room already have a signature style? The architecture may dictate that your home is a traditional Queenslander or a Hamptons style home in which case you may consider sticking within the style of that home. For example using a heritage style damask wallpaper or an all time classic; stripe wallpaper to ensure your wallpaper fits with the tone of your home.
However if your room is a blank canvas you can completely go with your taste. So what are you drawn to? Do you like geometric designs, florals or an animal print? Perhaps you are going for a certain style in the bedroom like a minimal industrial effect or a sophisticated luxe boudoir! Whichever speaks to you is your starting point to narrow your field of choices.
Bedroom Wallpaper Colour
Next to think about is colour. If you are keeping other main elements in your room such as carpet, window dressings or bed covers you should match your wallpaper colours to these interior elements.
Samples can be sent to you if you are not sure from the digital image as digital images may vary from the real thing.

Trending colours for your interior in 2021 are sage greens, navy and blues. Jewel tones are also still popular with the rich amethyst red front and centre.
Where to hang wallpaper in your bedroom
So you have chosen a wallpaper design for your bedroom. Are you going to hang it on all the walls or a feature wall?
If your design is bold or busy it may be overpowering to have it on all walls. This is after all the place for restfulness and calm. So a feature wall would be the most appropriate choice. Most often the bedhead wall would be the logical choice to hang the feature wall. However it does depend on the lay out of the room so take it all in from all angles to decide. The wall at the foot of your bed directly opposite also usually works well.
Another choice is to have your feature wall, lets say on the bedhead wall of your chosen design, then match a corresponding colour of an unpatterned or softly patterned wallpaper for the rest of the walls. This will create a cocoon of wallpaper wrapping the room in colour co-ordinated bliss!
