We charge by the square metre in most cases, but every project is different. The rate depends on how much there is to cut around, a bathroom or a staircase for example, and on the type of wallpaper, as some take longer to hang. As a general guideline allow $41 to $53 per square metre including GST. We also have a minimum call-out fee of $429 for very small jobs.

Only sometimes. We may need to look at the work first if it is a large scale project, if wallpaper removal or plastering is needed, or if the layout is unusual, lots of angles or a staircase for instance. Otherwise we can quote from the information you give us on the online form or by phone.

Measurements of the area or plans, including ceiling height. The wallpaper you have chosen, name, brand and code. Whether it is going on a flush wall or there is much to cut around, a toilet for example. And whether it is for your home or a commercial project.

Move fragile, breakable items, and take down curtains, TVs and shelves where possible. If you can move large furniture to create space that helps, and if not we can help on arrival. We always leave your home tidy, clean and how we found it.

Yes. We are fully insured, with public liability cover and workcover in place, and our QBCC licence number is 1275900.

We have removed wallpaper that had been up for 30 years or more. We use a professional, commercial grade adhesive on every install, which is why we guarantee our work. It is also a strippable adhesive, so when the time comes for removal it comes off cleanly.

No. We take pride in being honest tradies. If anything unexpected comes up we will tell you before we start, or as soon as we become aware of it, and work out the best course of action with you.

Yes. We supply everything in our online shop, and you can book an appointment at our Thornlands showroom to look through the wallpaper books. With thousands of papers available we can usually source a particular wallpaper or style you cannot find online or in store. And we will still install your wallpaper even if you bought it elsewhere.

Prep

We make sure the surfaces are suitable before wallpapering. Standard prep includes a basic sand to smooth things off, and we can fill any pin holes. New surfaces must be sealed a minimum of 12 hours before installation with one coat of a water based paint, which is not included in the quote unless specified. If plaster work is needed we can do it, but we need to know beforehand so it can be included in your quote and allowed for in the timing.

On masonry walls a steamer works best. Do not use a steamer on plasterboard, you could damage it. Without a steamer, the best way is warm water with detergent, applied with a bucket and roller. Leave it a few minutes, then repeat. Scrape the paper away with a heavy duty window scraper, taking the top layer first if there are multiple layers. If it is proving hard to remove, score the paper with a knife so the water can soak through. Make sure you remove the backing paper as well as the top layer, then wash away any glue residue.

We do, but it is pick up only from our Thornlands showroom, please call before you come. We do not post it as this size does not travel well. A 4L tub suits a feature wall up to about 30 square metres, roughly 6 rolls, and is $94. An 18.9L tub covers about 200 square metres and is $307.

Orders

All wallpaper supply needs to be paid in full before your wallpaper is ordered. For some large scale installation projects we may ask for a 10% deposit, and we would always tell you about that up front.

No refunds are issued for over ordering or a change of mind. If a product is faulty you must let us know within 7 days of receiving it. A fault is a defect made during manufacturing, and in that case the product must be returned to us. Wallpaper cannot be returned once any alteration has been made to it, by cutting or making up.

Measure the wall end to end and ceiling to floor, then check the wallpaper properties for the roll size and any pattern repeat, and work out how many drops you will get from a roll. For example, a wall 3m wide by 2.4m high with a 52cm by 10m roll needs 6 drops, and each roll yields 4 drops, so you order 2 rolls. Every product page also has a roll calculator that does the maths for you. We are happy to check your wall measurements with you, but the onus of responsibility is upon you to correctly assess the quantity of your order at the time of payment.

A batch means the wallpaper was printed using the same dye lot, machine and inks. Rolls from different batches can vary in colour or pattern, so wallpaper hung together should come from the same batch to avoid a possible mismatch. You will find the batch number with the other roll information on each roll.

Most of our brands supply samples. If there is no Order Sample button on the product page, that supplier does not offer them. We do not keep samples in stock, we order them in for you, so they usually take 1 to 3 weeks to arrive. Samples are $5 or $10 each depending on the brand with a maximum order of 4, and you can order them directly from each product page.
