A softly flowing foliage wallpaper with elegant painterly tones of colour. The delicacy of the leaves are enhanced by the gravure print onto the smooth surface of the non-woven ground. In four charming colourways with a coordinating fabric also available.
Removed from No. 29 Sackville Street in 1990, the original wallpaper fragment has an almost Jacobean feel with bold statement colour in the block printed floral motifs possibly dating around 1730. Sackville Street in the Piccadilly area of London was attractive to the minor nobility and by the beginning of the nineteenth century the tailoring trade had established itself in the area. The studio team at Designers Guild re-worked the design completely by re-painting with just the leaves alone in a softer form and flowing scale.
